🎙️ PUSH RE NEWZ – Cuyahoga County Report

Wednesday, October 28, 2026

Good evening, Northeast Ohio. This is your PUSH RE NEWZ community update, bringing you the latest happenings from across Cuyahoga County between yesterday and today.

🗳️ Politics & Community Election season is in full swing. Early voting continues throughout Cuyahoga County, and election officials are reminding residents that absentee ballots must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Local voters will decide several county issues involving developmental disability services, health and human services funding, and county government reforms.

🚢 Economic Development One bright spot for the local economy is Cleveland's waterfront. The Port of Cleveland has completed another record-setting cruise season, bringing thousands of visitors into Northeast Ohio. Local businesses, restaurants, hotels, and attractions are expected to benefit from the continued increase in tourism.

🏘️ Community Services Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Cleveland announced changes to its annual holiday meal program. Rather than delivering meals directly to homes, the organization will distribute meals through community locations and food pantries. Leaders say the new approach will allow them to serve even more families across Northeast Ohio while responding to rising transportation and grocery costs.

🚓 Public Safety Law enforcement agencies continue investigating several violent crimes in the Cleveland area. One of the county's most closely watched cases involves a suspect facing dozens of felony charges, including murder and sexual assault, after a deadly October incident. Prosecutors say the investigation remains active as the case moves through the court system.

Residents are also encouraged to remain alert as Halloween celebrations begin. Police departments across the county will have increased patrols in neighborhoods to help ensure safe trick-or-treating for children and families.

🏙️ City Government The City of Cleveland continues working on legislation designed to strengthen lead-safe housing protections for children and renters. City officials say the proposed updates would improve inspections and increase accountability for rental properties.

🌤️ Weather & Looking Ahead Expect cool autumn temperatures over the next few days. If you're heading out for Halloween events, dress warmly, carry flashlights after dark, and remember to wear reflective clothing if you're walking in neighborhoods.
